June 10th – 14th, 2015: Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy Post Graduate Certification Program – Module V

Lab practicums – both small and large animals, current research as it applies to Rehab.

July 2015

July 11th – 12th, 2015: Neurology Review.  RE-SCHEDULED. New dates to be posted soon.

July 25th – 26th, 2015: Cranio-Sacral Therapies for Animals.  Neal Sivula, DVM, PhD, FAAVA: This seminar will introduce the participants to the theory and practice of Craniosacral therapy, a low force technique that evaluates and treats the patient via the cerebrospinal system. Students will learn how to assess craniosacral rhythm and learn treatment techniques that can be implemented into their current treatment protocols. Skills will be practiced on classmates and on animals as well. Craniosacral therapy will add a whole new dimension to your practice and perhaps change the way you approach your patients!

August 2015

Aug 6th – 9th, 2015: Advanced VSMT With Clinical Applications in Neurology, Module I.  Topics to be discussed include: Neuro-embryology; Anatomy of the nervous system and spinal cord; Cellular Immediate Early Gene Response (CIEGR); Blood supply to the nervous system; Muscle, tendon and ligament anatomy and physiology; Inflammatory cascade; Cervical, brachial and lumbo-sacral plexus; Cranial nerves; Current research as it applies to SMT and Lab practicums. Brain stem – the basics; Cerebellum; Vestibular system and vestibular nuclei; Eye movement; Neurological differential diagnosis (bacterial, fungal and parasitic, among others); Differential diagnosis of organ /system failure with neurological consequences.

Oct 3rd – 4th, 2015: It is all about balance.  Pedro Luis Rivera, DVM, FACFN = Basic anatomy of the cerebellum, feed forward, feedback and afferent copy mechanism, anatomy of CN VIII, anatomy of the Vestibular Nuclei, anatomy of the Vestibular Labyrinth, and basic stomatognathic system.

Nov 6th – 8th, 2015: Neurology for Rehab Practitioners, Module II.  Topics to be updated soon!

Cerebellum; vestibular system and vestibular nuclei; Lab – how to improve balance; case presentations.

Nov 13th – 15th, 2015: Advanced VSMT with Clinical Applications in Neurology – Module III.  Topics to be discussed include but are not limited to: Central pattern generators; cerebellum and brain stem in depth with integration; practiciums (both small animal and large animal) and neuro-ophthalmology.
