PLEASE NOTE:

  • Species content includes both canine and equine
  • Extensive clinical hands-on lab (well over 85hrs) under the direct supervision of board-certified experts, faculty with decades of experience with a special interest in VSMT and functional neuroanatomy, with an outstanding student-to-instructor ratio for a better learning experience.  You start motion palpating and adjusting on Module I.
  • Please note that ALL clinical and practical work is included in the program, and NO EXTERNAL (added) EXTERNSHIP IS REQUIRED (minimizing time away from your practice)!
  • ALL attendees also receive CE for attending the Modules as well.  The CE approval includes AAVSB-RACE Approval, AHVMA (AVMA HOD recognized organization), as approved by a US Dept. of Education Accredited Institution, MN Board of Chiropractic Examiners, AVCA, and CoAC.
  • As this program is an IDL-Hybrid (Interactive Distance Learning) and face-to-face postgraduate program, students will need access to a high-speed internet connection, as well as having their computer (with camera and microphone).
  • Due to COVID19 Pandemic, the institution has implemented an Interactive Distance Learning (IDL) methodology to help with the transition and minimize stress and exposure to the attendees.  It is expected for the first Module to be off-campus (online) with the subsequent Modules (II, III, IV, and V) to be face-to-face with extensive hands-on practicums.

What does the IDL – Hybrid VSMT Course consist of?

The curriculum consists of a minimum of 226 hours provided via Interactive Distance Learning (IDL) hybrid technology, supervised face-to-face lectures, and hands-on practicums.  The length of the program is divided into one off-campus Module (IDL, which includes asynchronous prerecorded educational videos and synchronous educational scheduled Webinars) and four (4) face-to-face Modules.  ****PLEASE TAKE NOTE: The first Module of the IDL-Hybrid program begins once you enter the Moodle student section.  The total length of the program is five (5) Modules. There is a maximum of twenty (20) students per class, and we will try to keep a maximum ratio of 3 or 4 (three or four) students to one (1) faculty for clinical hands-on practicums.  In a postgraduate and state-approved certification program, the individual student must set time aside after each Module to study, practice, and integrate the presented information.  Time set aside will vary from student to student, but its average is about 4-5 hours (minimum) per week.   Please note that all clinical and practical work is included in the program (under direct supervision during on-campus Modules), and NO external (added) internships are required.  In addition, each student must present a total of four (4) cases in a SOAP format during Modules IV or V.  A “case” constitutes either a patient that has been brought or sent to you for a consultation for VSMT care; their primary complaint, objective findings, physical findings, and treatment/progress plan.  If you are interested, you may choose either Class A or B.  See below for specific dates.
